Can whiplash cause mid back pain?
July 29, 2008 9:49 am Mid Back PainCarpeDM asked:
since my accident last year from which i sustained whiplash, i have had terrible mid back pain, unbareable at times. my shoulder hurts too and so much so it wakes me from a deep sleep. what little sleep i tend to get. i often wake up so stiff i wonder if i have arthritis systemiclly. it feels as though the weight of a train has been placed upon me. i also wake with the feeling of numbness and tingleing down my arms and into my fingers. my xrays show my neck was rattled so much that it’s caused my spine to be straight. can that be why i feel the way i do? i can barely move most of the time w/out a huge amount of pain. anyone else have these problems from an accident? thank you for your help.

Yes, it could be the reason. I have been going to a chiropractor for several years for chronic back problems. Last year I was T-Boned. My chiropractor showed me my before and after accident x-rays. She said maybe i should get hit on the other side to put me back in alignment.
You might consider getting evaluated by a chiropractor. Some of them think they can cure all kinds of ails by adjusting the spine. I just believe it makes my back pain and numbness more tolerable.
