lower back pain
Lynn22 asked:

I am 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant for the last 3 days my lower back and bum feel like someone is trying to tear them off. I have pain when I stand, sit, walk I just cant get comfortable. Plus I have since today lower right ( just above vagina) stinging pain. I have had green, yellow, and white discharge for 3 weeks now, baby has dropped. Whats going on, the DR said go in to the hospital when you cant talk through the pain. I am not there yet what could this be?????
I cant count contractions either I am really bad at it, it seems like the pain is always there.

i wouldn’t wait till i couldn’t talk. i don;t know why they advise that. that could be too late for some woman. i would go and get checked out. good luck and take care.

i had the same thing , lost my mucous plug 4 days before i went into labour, but like you said, had very bad back lower back pain, and no matter how many massages, warm baths etc i got, i couldnt get comfortable. i had my baby a day before his due date, and when i first woke up with contractions, i just thought i had to go to hte bathroom really badly, but hten when i kept feeling like that every 30 seconds or so, i knew i was in labor and went into hte hospital. the contractions didnt get unbearable until i was about 6 cms dialted, then i couldnt do anything but concentrate on them being over. I had back labor, and found that sitting in a bath with jets (they had one in my delivery room) REALLY helped to relax me, and felt good on my back pain. hope this helped! congrats on your soon to be born baby!!

When I went in labor the pain was in my back, not so much in my front till after I got to hospital and they gave me some kind of shot that had my contraction more in the front later in the night.. I had also started spotting and not feeling right so I went in. I had thined out but only was dilated a bit. If I were you I would go in and be checked.

I can certainly relate to the back pain (plus a few other torturous feelings) and your Dr is right about going to the hospital only when the pain is severe. It’s better for the hospital and YOU.

However did you mention you have GREEN discharge. That sounds serious. I would be questioning that. Green discharge CAN mean the baby has done a poo due to distress and there is a hole in the sack/membrane (the bag surrounding your baby).

Please ring them now and tell them about the Green discharge and when you experienced it.
