for 6 days now i been having this pain on my upper back if i put my head in a certain angle or if i do the scapular squeezes which is shoulder blaze squeeze it hurts a lot to do that and the pain is located around my right upper back and it hurts a lot. it isn’t from sleeping wrong or having a big pillow or working out. it just came on suddenly and i dont know why and it hurts. could it be lung cancer if it hurts in my upper back or could it be something with spine cord?? please help it hurts a lot.

In January I had stomach problems with pain and cramping which the doctors thought was a virus so i haven’t had the pains bad in a few weeks but now over the last two or more weeks i have terrible neck pain and stiffness. The pain is also in my lower back. In addidtion to this pain i am lightheaded. I also get headaches which can get worse accross the back of my head and temples sometimes. I just got a full-time job as a typist at an abstract and title company, and recently I’ve found that, after awhile, I can’t hardly stand to sit in my chair anymore, my back hurts so bad. It’s a crappy little computer chair, and while I can spend a sufficient amount of time sitting up straight and proper, after awhile it just doesn’t matter what I do, I eventually just get frustrated. I’ve tried adjusting the back of the chair, the damn metal bar that the back is attached to is always there, regardless of how low I put the back.

And of course, the neck pain is due to having to look to the side at whatever it is I’m copying at the time. (They still use typewriters. -.-)

Anyone have any suggestions?
Qtea: I honestly wish I knew what these peoples’ problems were! There are only four of us in this place. The boss (who is a really friendly, mellow guy), his 80/90-some-year-old father, and a woman in her 40’s, who’s definitely given me the “Ha! They’ll never get computers!” remark before when I’ve commented on it, lol.

I dunno. It would be SO much faster and more convenient, it’s ridiculous stupid to still be using electric typewriters. Ugh. Lol.

I have had bad back and neck pain for atleast 4 months…i don’t know how it started but it is in my mid back and i can feel pain between my shoulder blade on the right side of my back…if i turn my body to the left, it is very painful; therefore i must keep turning it to the right…when i do this, i keep hearing my back pop and feel a pain in my right set of ribs………as for my neck, it also hurts if i turn it to the left, so i keep turning it to the right and hear it “pop”…i cannot sleep with my head turned towards the left…it has to be to the right……..i would appreciate any advise and info….thank you.

I am almost 20 years old and have got in three car accidents in the past year and a half (none my fault either). In each one I experienced neck pain and stiffness and back pain especially in the first week after the accident. Well this last accident was the worst. it happened in early october. i hydroplaned on the highway, spun around, smashed into the concrete guard rail in the center of the highway so hard it knocked me the opposite direction and my car rolled 2-3 times landing on its side. I denied an ambulance but after an hour I was hurting and stiff as usual. I still refused to get checked out. After a week or so the sharp pain and stiffness seemed to go away. a few weeks later, however, my back and especially my neck began bothering me a lot, but really bad at night. I’m talkin about only sleeping about an hour or two a night. It takes a good while before I get to sleep and the smallest noise wakes me and i’m up. or my neck hurts so bad i wake up. cannot get comfy at night.
tried acupuncture, chiropractor, advil and tylenol simultaneously (including pm brand), hot pack cold pack. nothing helps. do you think the doc will help or put me off as trying to score meds? my pain is real and i really miss sleep at night. its ruining my life and makes me irritated and cranky all the time. my wife and i constantly fight because of my mood. i’m always tired and fatigued but cannot get comfortable enought to sleep. i toss and turn all night. i even bought a firmer new mattress and foam pillows. please help me!!!
i wish i had the money to go doctor to doctor but i don’t. so i guess i’ll just call around looking for a doctor that understands my situation. i know medication won’t fix it, but i need something to help me get to sleep while my body naturally recovers. after all, the body does need rest to heal, right? if i cannot rest, how can i expect to heal? i just think cuz i’m so young they won’t believe me. i’m tired of coming to work so drowsy, its gonna catch up wit me.
